Series: perspectives from AI Week 2025

AI WEEK 2025 Kåre Søyland Antire

The agentic future is already here—now let’s build with it

By Kåre Søyland, Head of Tech and AI at Antire

At AI Week 2025, I had the honor of giving the very last presentation of day 1. The one standing between the audience and the drinks. A dangerous time slot, but also the perfect opportunity to keep things sharp and cut straight to the point: we’re entering the era of agentic AI systems—and the sooner we understand what that means, the more value we can create.

If you’ve followed any of my previous writing, like this one on the evolution of AI agents or this one on applied and tailored AI, you’ll know that I don’t see AI as a siloed capability. I see it as something that enhances or replaces cognitive labor, integrates across your IT landscape, and drives measurable business value.

What AI-agentic systems really are

At the most basic level, agentic systems are AI systems that act. They’re not just giving you clever outputs—they’re interacting with systems, performing tasks, making decisions (within parameters), and learning as they go.

And the beauty of these systems? They’re inherently more dynamic than traditional automation. Instead of building brittle step-by-step processes, we create adaptive loops—systems that reason, problem-solve, and adjust to new inputs. Think RPA 2.0 meets orchestration meets business logic that evolves.

It’s not just theory. At Antire, we’ve already built internal agentic systems that help us recommend the optimal AI setup for different clients, balancing cost, speed, and capability. As anyone who’s tried to compare model pricing across vendors knows, that’s no small feat. Our agentic framework supports those decisions with reasoning, not guesswork.

Why this matters now

Harvard Business School recently published a study that made me smile. It showed that an individual working with GenAI outperformed a team of two without AI, and nearly matched the productivity of a team of two using AI. Even more interesting: participants reported more positive emotions when working with AI than with their human teammates. That’s… something to think about.

Now, imagine combining that individual with a set of domain-specific AI agents. The productivity upside multiplies. The feedback loops tighten. The organization evolves.

And it’s already happening. The momentum is real, whether you’re using agents to streamline ERP processes or applying our SHABOOM framework for role-based AI coworkers.

You can meet more of our smart agents in this piece by my colleague Mats, Head of Cloud and AI-Driven Business Applications at Antire:

Why Antire is positioned to lead

We’re not just experimenting with this technology—we’ve built a dedicated AI Strike Team to stay ahead of the curve. This team brings engineers, architects, data scientists, and application specialists together to deploy agentic solutions quickly and effectively across business domains.

We're also tech-agnostic. Whether it’s Azure, Oracle, Google, or something else entirely, we don’t push a stack—we recommend what fits your business and your goals. And because we have full-stack capabilities (data platform, ERP, infrastructure, integration), we can deploy agentic systems that actually work in your real-world environment, not just in a lab.

In short, we’re not just building AI. We’re building systems that think, act, and adapt across your IT landscape.

What’s next

The future isn’t about replacing everyone with agents. It’s about making humans more capable, systems more flexible, and businesses more responsive. Think of it this way: the next billion-dollar company might not have any employees—just agents working in coordination across sales, finance, R&D, and support. That may sound futuristic, but the foundation is already here.
