Welcome to Life at Antire, where we highlight the people who make Antire a dynamic and meaningful place to work. In this series, we delve into the journeys, expertise, and unique perspectives of our team members, offering a glimpse into the culture that drives us. In this article, we meet Nicoline Onchoy Jensen and uncover their story.
Driving purpose through meaningful work
Nicoline Onchoy Jensen holds a MSc. degree in IT Product Development from Aarhus University and is based in Aarhus. For her, working within renewable energy gives her role a strong sense of purpose.
“Even though my day-to-day tasks are often tied to software and technical solutions, it’s motivating to know that what we build contributes to the green transition.”
As a Project Manager, she is driven by understanding the bigger picture: “I’m driven by understanding the root of the problem, what we’re actually solving and the difference it makes.” This mindset helps her stay focused and make better decisions throughout her work.
Her journey at Antire has also been shaped by continuous learning. “Project management touches on many areas… Being able to bring in the right people at the right time, and learning from them along the way, is a big part of what inspires me.”
A typical day as a Project Manager
Nicoline works as a Project Manager at Antire, where a large part of her role is about alignment across teams, clients, and stakeholders.
She usually starts her day by reviewing her to-do list, calendar, and emails to prioritise what’s ahead, often followed by a quick coffee with colleagues before diving into meetings and preparation.
“I place a lot of importance on transparency and shared understanding, as it’s key to maintaining progress and avoiding misunderstandings.” she explains.
For Nicoline, good collaboration is about making sure everyone is moving in the same direction and has the context they need. That shared understanding is what keeps projects moving forward smoothly, both internally and with clients.
You’re not expected to know everything - especially in the complex domains and systems we work with. It’s easy to assume that everyone else has the answers, but in reality, a lot of learning happens by being curious and speaking up.”
Nicoline describes the culture at Antire in three words: Self-managed, Supportive, and Curious.
“You have a high degree of ownership over your day,” she explains, highlighting the independence that comes with the role. At the same time, the environment remains collaborative: “People are always willing to help, share perspectives, and challenge your thinking in a constructive way.”
Curiosity is also a defining trait of the culture, with a shared drive to keep improving and learning, both individually and as a team.
One project that stands out for Nicoline is the very first one she worked on at Antire, a proof of concept for a client.
“Coming straight from university, everything felt new, and I didn’t fully understand the bigger picture at the time.” she adds.
Today, she has come full circle and is now the Project Manager on the rollout of that same solution. “I’m proud to have followed the project from its early stages and to see both the solution and my own role evolve. It’s also one of the larger projects we’ve delivered, which makes the journey even more meaningful. ”
For anyone considering a role at Antire, Nicoline’s advice is simple: “Ask questions.”
“You’re not expected to know everything… a lot of learning happens by being curious and speaking up.” She highlights how colleagues are open to sharing knowledge and in return gain often new insights.
“That openness and willingness to help is something I really value at Antire, and it’s a big part of what makes it a great place to grow.” she says.
I’m driven by understanding the root of the problem, what we’re actually solving and the difference it makes. That perspective helps me stay focused and make better decisions as a Project Manager.”
