From economics to cloud platforms
Markus Holsve Sanness started his academic journey with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Administration, graduating in 2018. Shortly after, he realized his interest was shifting towards technology, leading him to pursue a second degree in Applied Computer Science at OsloMet, which he completed in 2021.
Since then, his career has focused on building infrastructure platforms in the cloud. With a background that bridges both economics and IT, Markus brings a broad perspective to his work, helping design solutions that fit the needs of different businesses.
Role at Antire
At Antire, Markus works as the Cloud Platform Lead for Azure, where he focuses on building and evolving robust cloud platforms for customers.
He develops platform capabilities, designs architectures from the ground up, and drives automation to help organizations become more enterprise-ready. He also plays a key role in shaping how Antire itself works with cloud technologies in a secure and efficient way.

What drives him
For Markus, a key part of working at Antire is the trust and responsibility he is given.
“Being able to join Antire, and to be given the trust to take initiative and help shape the company has been a very rewarding journey.” He highlights the balance between internal development work and customer-facing challenges as something that makes the role meaningful and varied.
“Combining this trust and internal work, while also being assigned to challenging and interesting customer assignments, makes it a balanced and diverse environment that makes each day meaningful.” he adds.

Markus describes the culture in simple but strong terms: people feel seen.
“In Antire, you feel seen. Doors are open, no sharp elbows and a meaningful collective effort to be good.”
He also highlights the strong sense of competence across the team: “Working with competent people creates an aura of ‘can do’ attitude, which is a genuinely hard cultural achievement.”
A typical day
Markus splits his time between customer assignments and internal responsibilities.
“My work demands a balancing act… I am fortunate enough to have two ‘homes’, which makes my week-to-week look very different.”
He emphasizes the importance of being close to customers while also relying on internal expertise: “Knowing that I have a network of skilled internal resources is absolutely invaluable to deliver quality infrastructure platforms.”
A memorable achievement
Markus takes pride in helping ensure that Antire’s AI deliveries are supported by strong infrastructure foundations.
He highlights his contribution to making sure platforms are delivered in a secure, reliable, and infrastructure-as-code–ready way, enabling smoother and more consistent deployments across projects.
He also credits the team: ensuring that these processes are adopted and owned has been an important step in improving delivery quality.
