From theory to practice, discovering what bridges the world together
At Antire, we’re bridging people and AI—keeping people-first at the core, and delivering technology people love to use. Meet Jo Andersson Stokke, Junior IT Consultant, whose journey from theoretical physics to practical AI shows exactly what that means in practice.
Jo joined Antire in the fall of 2024 after five years of studying physics and mathematics at NTNU in Trondheim. For his master’s thesis, written in collaboration with the Geometry Group at Zuse Institute in Berlin, he developed a framework for numerical methods on graphs. This highly theoretical project sparked his interest in how these mathematical foundations could be applied to real-world problems.
“My two main motivations when starting were to discover and learn about the technologies that underpin our current world and to bridge the gap between my theoretical background and practical applications,” Jo explains.
Since joining Antire, Jo has worked with data pipelines and modeling in Cognite Data Fusion, supporting customers such as Aker BP, Roche, and Moelven Industries. The work has given him hands-on experience with trusted AI and data solutions that are built for clarity, not hype, and designed to deliver tangible outcomes.
“After starting my journey at Antire, I’ve learned a lot about what it means to work in IT professionally. I’ve gone from being uncertain about what to do to feeling that I’m contributing and leaving a personal mark on the final product.”
When asked to describe the culture at Antire, Jo’s three words say a lot.
Varied, because Antire unites people from different backgrounds, industries, and companies—combining experience with new perspectives.
Fast-paced, because AI and cloud technologies move quickly, and Antire moves with them.
Ambitious, because everyone wants to create great products and deliver proof of value.
Most mornings start with a quick catch-up with the team—a chance to align, share progress, and discuss any challenges. After that, Jo dives into focused work, switching between independent tasks and collaboration as projects evolve.
“In an open office, I can easily ask questions and get feedback from colleagues more seasoned than me, which helps me learn fast and stay in flow,” he says.
“The teams I’ve worked in are really good at keeping communication open, which lowers the barrier to asking for help—something I appreciate as a junior.”

One project Jo is especially proud of is with Moelven Industries, where he helped design the company’s data model to prepare for the next era of AI.
“We also created dashboards for operators on the production floor,” he explains.
“Recently, they told us they used the dashboards to detect when a saw needed replacement earlier than planned, improving production before an issue occurred. Seeing that kind of real-world result from data and AI was really rewarding.”
“Be ambitious and active in the company discourse,” Jo says.
“A unique benefit of working in a smaller company is that your contributions matter. You really feel like you’re part of shaping Antire’s direction—bridging your own growth with the company’s journey.”
